Kath Stopforth not exactly. He was "at war" from when he enlisted, went into training and then embarked overseas. He was killed on his first day in battle

I remember laying Reffs on this memorial a few times, Tilly Bell our Brownie leader made a reef every year out of green leaves (sorry carn,t remember the name of the tree they come from ) The reef was big and had red poppy,s in it.
