There was a Barry McDonagh who was the son of Gordon McDonagh ...Gordon used to manage the Newmans bus depot on MAWHERA Quay....Gordon may have had a brother by the same name perhaps which may fit the "time" for this beautiful old car which the "hard case " Ace Boustridge is driving ....Ace was such good fun and a great guy...

Ray Robertson I am sure from Dads stories this was Grandad Robs and sold to Mr Boustridge. Last time we saw this was at Paroa Store 1970's as Ian was the Baby. Do you know more.??

Miriam Becker The car came from a farm at the back of the Totara Flat area. I don’t know the farmers name but it was bolted down on a frame ane the rear wheels used to drive a belt that powered a large circular saw

I knew Barry McDonagh. He had a 1927 Dodge for sale and a mate had it for a while as a trial.It had been made into a truck.Could have been restored.Late 50's this was.Think Barry was a Cobden boy??? If he is alive he'd be pushing 80!

I helped rebuild the bodywork and wood frame with Charlie Gutteridge who was a super tradesman, we didn't have any plans just a picture that used to be in early cigarete packets. To go on, all metal panels were made by hand etc. We had some real pressure on to get it done on time, the paint work was done by Bill Wild.
