My Uncle Charlie Etheredge there so it may be 1930 or 1931.
I have a photo of the 1932 Blackball Rugby team with my dad Jim Etheredge as captain and Charlie in the back row. The 1932 team were the West Coast Junior Champs and winners of the Russell and Hannam cups. Dad had returned from England in that year.
I think the 1932 team went on to beat a top Christchurch club.

Away from my records, but from memory: Johnny Dodds was a Kiwi on tour to Australia in 1930 and later a renowned coach (of the Mountford brothers among others). He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA.

I'm pretty sure the R Clark is Bob Clark who 30 years later was still playing cricket for Blackball when I was a school kid playing for Marist. Also a great rugby league man all his life.
