I have a signed copy of Peaches book and it is a wonderful read. My grandparents and great grandparents were from Nelson Creek in late 1880s through to 1940s.

I am rereading Probing The Nelson Creek Area at the moment My grand parents and my great parents are from there, they were there from 1874 to 1953, they were gold miners in the Gows Creek area and they had a Sawmill in Bell hill road, I am trying to locate the saw mill any help would be appreciated thanks.

I was at Peaches 50th birthday party in Nelson Creek. Man that was a good one and she was an amazing woman. Sadly missed.

Gosh, only bought this book last month and have just been reading it as my Grt Grt Grandparents Henry and Catherine Betts lived in Try Again Terrace from the late 1860s through to the early 1870s when Catherine died.
Interesting read! Sorry to hear of Peaches death.

I got to meet her a few times when she was at Nelson Creek in the late 70's. I also have an autographed book, number 573 which I've written 1977 on which would be when I purchased the copy from her in person at her home.

Eve Nissen I went to the Press Obituaries and shared the notice from there to people at Foxton / Foxton Beach by posting the Notice to a couple of local community Groups up here. (They were well known and highly respected people here before moving down to Nelson Vreek.)

I'm sad to hear this. A relative kindly sent me an extract from Peaches Eaton's book, referring to Hatters Terrace school where my great grandmother, Annie Prince, was a teacher until 1883.
