Amby was our closest neighbor, I have early memories of him on his horse (Barney) complete with stock whip and lever action Winchester 44 in a scabbard . I can remember their original farm house burning to the ground in the late 1950’s, there was no fire brigade, there was no way to save it, so he just carried on with the morning milking.
