I'm thinking it's the Dobson mill, turn-off on the Dobson side of the S bend. Duke Smith and family lived at the turnoff, when I was around.

Jim Walsh says: The mill was at the end of Litchfield Street which runs almost parallel with the Main road through Kaiata. He remembers the sawdust heaps well as a playground when a child.

Faulkners mill was on Litchfeild Street , mass pile of sawdust and an old Locomotive chassis which we played on Warren Parkin ,

This was a dangerous situated very close to the main road saw mill,unworn logs laying vry close to roadside,,mill was running vry old saws etc,,this mill closed down mid 90's I'd say...last of the native log cut....

I recall this mill on Litchfield Street in the 1950-60's. It was located alongside many family homes - can't imagine health and safety legislation allowing that now!
