As a sea scout we went out over the bar on it and they did donuts on the bar, it was calm at the time

Worked on several of these. Built during the second world war and continued in use by the navy into - I believe - the early 80's. Wooden hulled and very strong. Loved 'em.

Peter Armstrong
Built in 1943 and decommissioned in 1966.

I wa the last Cox'n to drive the Kuparu from Wn to Ak in 1986 before we picked up rhe Wakakura. Very proud of that lady. We got a hiding on the way up.
