I went to Te Kinga school, but about 10 or so years earlier. I do remember there were Hines in Te Kinga then. I remember that jolly swing bridge, that we had to cross, to go get the billy of milk on McLeods farm.

Lol....we went there on Sundays to get the cream!...

We lived next to Hills who had the Post office at their house. I remember the cold mornings in winter when the taps were all frozen up & the huge frosts, & the big cockabillies we used to catch in the lake, using the logs to stand on----also remember falling in & nearly drowning.
Sue Shrives
Mrs Thomas had the shop & there was also a hotel there then. We would race to the train tracks if we were going on the train, & look down the line to see if the light had turned green, which meant that the train wasn't far away. Interesting times when you think back.
Rowena Beaumont
Haha aren't we cute
