Does anybody have any old photos of the fishing boat Red Witch from back in the days when she was fishing out of Greymouth? We own her now and have lived aboard for the last year. This is her now.

I think that this was the first boat that my uncle Basil Piner built
He named it after the film The Wake of the Red Witch -a pirate story

My father Basil Piner had this boat built in Timaru. I think the builder's name was Robb. He named it after a favourite movie " The Wake of the Red Witch".

While the new wheel house was being put on the Debbie Jane ,cossie and I took the red witch (painted yellow) tunaing ,we done 9 days all the way up to Manukau , Onehunga in..... 2002 - 2003, the survey was only slightly out of date so we got given 60 hrs to sail ''straight" back to grey.. we would've stopped in port Taranaki so I could say Halo to mum and dad but we would've been classed as "pirates" ,or maybe we were already pirates let lolz..so we kept on going 12 days later we got there , with only about 3 rejected fish on the unload , it wasn't too bad at tunaing ,used to kinda do much better on day's there wasn't much around.. I don't where she is now, and RIP COSSIE AND NIRVANA , lost at sea Yates Point , Milford, round 8 year's back..

Wow looking sharp! I remember this vessel as a kid moored at the Blaketown wharf and then as an adult doing Electrical repairs during my time at P.B. Davy Auto Electrical.
