We lived in Reefton for about a year in 1954 or thereabouts
Snowed while we were there. Cold and days of fog. The ponds all froze over allowing the kids like me to try out ice skating

Not quite as high as the yr I started school when the power lines came down in Buller Rd and we were sent home and told to only wald in the middle of the Rd to avoid any danger my mother put the yard rule out and the snow was nearly to the top.
