Such a beautiful spot. Spent nearly every new year summer holiday there as kids. Initially in a bach with a generator and long drop loo in the bush. Shower was a tin can punched with holes hung under the rain tank. Over the years the bach was slowly modernised with luxurious indoor plumbing etc. Boating, skiing...night trips to the glow worms on the islands....great memories.

Always remember for our 1980's Outdoor Ed class going there for kayaking. We were to follow the shore, pretty much around to the far side. I think what was to be sight seeing & kayak time under our belt. Well, we got to the other side & the weather closed in quick, the wind picked up. Mr Hinchcliff told a friend and I to paddle as fast as we could back straight across the lake which was pretty choppy by then. He would stay to round up stragglers. Off we went at a great rate of knots. He did catch us eventually, we must've paddled like our lives depended on it David Rodgers
