Was that hut high on the Griffin Range by any chance? I recall a Sweetman used to roam that area looking for Jade and also remember where the hut was. (I never went in side the hut but did visit the site but usually observed it from a distance)

Glenn Johnston Yes it was on Griffin range by the old serpentine mine. It was built by Terry Sweetman and Dave Coll in the 70’s . They used it as a base for Green stone recovery. It was subsequently blown in to Nephrite creek in a storm in the 90’s

That's an oldie Terry did a stint up in Bulolo for awhile. Was an avid Coast jet boater for a bit. Had a love of flooded small creeks seeing how far he could go.

Was that the hut up in the Mt Griffin area near the old Serpentine mine? I met a Sweetman on my first trip in to the head of Griffin Creek in 1974.
