Walked across there in 1998 and wasn't impressed with the decking,repairs were needed to make it safe!

I used to drive across it when visiting my grandparents.
It was also in photos taken at the time of Brunner Mine disaster (1895)

Pretty sure I've driven across it too and I didn't get a licence until 1973. If it is the same bridge I think I've watched a loaded truck cross it and seen the huge amount of movement as the truck drove on, progressed and drove off. What year was this bridge closed to motor vehicles?

My brother's would climb those ropes to the top, during our walks home from Taylorville school. I also remember well the cut-down bus (so it could cross the bridge to Taylorville). The bridge closed to traffic during my primary school years I think... probably late 1960's or early '70's.

I remember that bridge when staying with my grandmother in Taylorville. Had the roof always knew what bus to catch from town had flat roof to accommodate bridge.

My Grandfather, Richard ( Dick) Collins lived in the hut on the Taylorville side of the bridge before he passed away.

I’d like to know about the staircase up to the second level where I can see a gate. Is that to do with an upper deck on the bridge I think I’ve read about. Also interested in the man working bottom right?

My grandfather Gibbens worked on building this bridge he moved from atria after the otria tunnel was built to work on the bridge at Brunner.

Remember it fondly, crossed it many, many times...once in a bus during the Taylorville school celebrations circa 1975-76 (centennial I think?) heading to Shantytown. The bus driver had left the door partly open and it caught on the bridge and shattered glass everywhere...my cousin Kerry Campbell was with me and we still remember that incident today!
