The guard looks like Cliff Peart. He worked for the MOW in the 60 and 70’s and was an iconic South Westland deer hunter mainly in the Waitoto. He lived in the hut next to me at the Haast single man’s camp in the early 70’s while we worked on the New Haast townsite.
