My father, Rae Wilson was a Fireman on the Kaponga, and came ashore in the breeches bouy basket. He was great friends with the Dando’s and the Dense’s.

My father Jack Walton was also on the Kaponga at this time.

Glenys Walton , yes Glenys, he used to mention your father. He was from Dunollie so probably knew the seamen from Greymouth from his early days growing up He used to do bike racing as a young man, so in those days so well known!!!!!!
