AddBy: William Gray20th Aug 2021 1:09PMNames for the first five are ALEXANDER, (Anchor Co), MERNOO. (Melbourne Steamship Co Aust).ABEL TASMAN. (H .C. Sleigh Aust) KARTIGI, POOLTA. Union Co, the remaining two ?. I suspect this photgraph is more likely to be 1933 or later as Sleigh,s didn,t purchase the ABEL TASMAN until 1933, and as is well known she was wrecked here in July 1936, after breaking away from the wharf during a flood.

By: Laura Mills9th Aug 2021 1:38PMPhotograph from the mid-1930,s, this vessel is an Escort Sloop, either the LEITH or the WELLINGTON, they were both in NZ Service, from 1934-35 to 1939, when they both returned to the United Kingdom, the WELLINGTON did see service at Dunkirk.
