According to Book of NZ Shipwrecks the Thurso was being towed out when the hawser parted she drifted onto north Tip head total wreck removed by explosives.7August1895.
HESKETH 26 Oct.1879 Struck by three heavy rollers and thrown on to North Beach total wreck.
