By: Graham L Schaef29th Aug 2021 9:04AMThere are 3 sections on which the building sits. 113, 115 and 117 Mackay St. The single story was built on 113 and 115 around 1919. The shop on 117 was a Saddlery and bought a little later, pulled down and the present brick building built, this was used as the Smallgoods shop for the bakery behind the Tea Rooms which sat on 113 and 115. In 1931-32 the upper Story was added and used as a reception room as has been mentioned. When George Harker retired early 1940's Reg Olsen took over the business and then the Kings took over the Tea Rooms calling it "The Tudor" and Reg the Cake Shop which I bought off him in 1965. In the early 70's a clothing factory was set up for a while. The Caribbean Coffee Lounge was upstairs for quite a few years. The Tea Rooms became Kilgours Book Shop in the early 70"s also . G. Schaef
