Does anyone recall the Hari Hari races? An equalisator meeting. Retired racehorses etc, some riders wearing jockey colours. A half mad horse called Fast Ace was ridden down from Ross to start and ridden back. Had a habit of bolting. Johnny Hurren rode in the Hari Hari races and it was 1950 that he broke his collar bone during a race. The story that is told it was my 3rd. birthday. Can anyone confirm there was a race meeting on the 5th March 1950.

I remember them well. Dad, Robin Rowley had two horses Scrum and Judith Ann trained by Kevin Lalor. Dad was also the race commentator.

Hi Debbie . Yes, I do remember these days, when a Youngster...expecially on those Picnic Days , held at Moonlight Slatey Creek. Tommy and Super, would put Saddles, up on their Trotters , with the Boys ,carrying a Whip..One Horse of Supers was called , Athos , Tallest Horse I've ever seen, drop it's Rider at the start of the Race, & took Off at High Speed into the Bush..Never to be seen again...
