I have seen many Ross station photos and have stared at google maps of Ross and can’t for the life of me figure out where it used to be. Can someone please help out with a location?
Jack Pittaway
Dean Gutberlet I believe if you follow the line from the disused bridge over river towards the road to the seaside campground. This is now a cycle trail but believe the station was just before the road or just over the other side of it.
Ray Port
Jack Pittaway Yes I left there late 60s.
We were first railway family to be moved when it was decided Ross line would eventually close.
Phyllis Williams

I remember how the guard would sometimes make us all get out of our seats so he could reverse them for trip back - & when the railcar would sometimes stop on tracks at Mahinapua & guard would run over to pub - probably to deliver something but of course we thought he was going for a quick beer !

Peter Detlaff I find it quite sad in a way. NZ doesn't seem to mind bowling down it's history.
