Bazil Piner blew the rock face un the upstream side to the left of the bridge to put the rock face out of the way. It landed on the bridge. It was burned in the river bed.

My Dad told me that this was known as the “Top Red Bridge” before a number of names were assigned to locations that that locals said had no bearing to the area.
