DescriptionArmstrong family Runanga, could be in front of there house Mill St. Probably about 1936. My father Richard in front with camera his younger brother Neville beside him,Nan to the left Grandad to the right.another brother Howard out the back ,not to sure about the others.
Ian Jackson.."My Grandmother was Linda Armstrong and married Sam Baddeley. She had 3 sisters (Rose, Maud and Catherine) and a brother James. James was married to Doreen Southard I think. Her parents were James Armstrong who married Catherine Allen. James Armstrong's (senior) father was Robert Armstrong who arrived from Scotland in the around 1870. He was followed out some years later by 3 half brothers all Armstrongs.
My father Roy was born in Runanga and lived on Seven Mile Rd. He was a NZ Champion euphonium player and played in the 1953 NZ National Band. His father was Reg who is shown in the 1923 pic of the Runanga Band."Date of Photoca.1936Map[1] ContributorPeter Armstrong
