DescriptionOn 30 March 1970 steam locomotive Ww 644 left Greymouth en route to its new home at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway, where it still is today, over half a century later.

Brings back wonderful memories waiting a at lake Brunner, sitting on the bank out side my aunty June and uncle Eric's house waiting for the train to come along the tracks puffing come to through. we could wave to all the people on the train they would always wave back too us they were the best days of our lives

We lived near Dobson station where the trains shunted to pick up the coal wagons from the Dobson coal mine. Quite a noise at times but you did get used to it. There was always a mad dash to the window from my Ch. Ch. nephews when a train was heard coming along. They none where they lived.

Thelma Coutts same Thelma, we used to be able to look down from the hill at the trains shunting the coal wagons around from the bins .Certainly had to get used to the noise.
