My brother had a loader on the back of a truck and got stuck a few years ago,we let the tyres down and went to the pub and drank ourselves silly

walked this bridge many times in my childhood - helped operate the gates when my 1st husband was gatekeeper and drove it heaps.

A lot of motor bikes came to grief on the bridge.
We used to ride our racing bikes over the bridge.
It was a hairy experience!

about a high load once that wouldn't fit on the bridge. Apparently a young guy said let some air out of the tyres. That worked, and

Gazey Colville the truck got stuck under it . It was Shush Rendel who let the tyres down to get it across. From memory I think it had hay on it.

Bought a Mitzi Excavator accross. M230. about 25 tonnes. Would not squeeze under. Unloaded off transporter and drove it accross with bucket arm fully extended. Just another true tale of what we use to do. A little damage to side wooden rails or buffers of bridge . Loaded it up and off we went again. !
