Jackson's hotel they built a new one but let the liquor license laps so it has been sitting there not open for the last couple of years

Trish Barry Andrews Correct. Perry was one of the C19th miners who had a claim up on the range. Alluvial mining started 1864 and quartz/hard rock mining in 1869.

Had the pleasure of living at Jacksons in the early 60s. Tom & Dot Edens were the proprietors of hotel then. They were a great family and treated us kids so well. Great memories. Always reminisce about those days.

they used to put out single mattressess whe the pass was shut and us truckies slept along the bar floor in front of a good roaring coal fire
