My Grandfather would have been the Headmaster at this time as he started in August 1901 through to June 1918 and came over to Canterbury and a position at Pleasant Point close to Timaru.

My first year at blackball school was the last year for these old buildings. Next year there was a playground.

I think my Great Grandmother is in that photo, Georgina Kinsella. She was born 1865 went to school in Blackball and married Michael Gerraghty- he is buried in the Blackball cemetery, she is buried in the Greymouth cemetery
