Description This one is of my Grandmother Ethel Wallwork and her parents Mary-Jane and Moses Wallwork. They came to NZ when she was about 16 so probably 1909 from Lancashire and this is their first house in Runanga]

. I know nothing about her family as I have been concentrating on my paternal grandparents, the Armstrongs. Ethel married my Grandfather Valentine Armstrong who had a mine (Armstrong and party) at the 10 mile. Most of my photos are with my daughter in Tauranga as she has been helping me trace the Armstrong family tree so I know nothing of the Wallwork side. Help wanted please! The medal was won by Moses and is inscribed from the The Royal Horticultural Society "State Collieries Society won by M. Wallwork 1917". I think my Mother told me he grew roses!

How amazingly stoic they were back then. I bet there household hummed morning till night. Washing, cooking and mending clothes. Those were not easy days.

A Moses Cowill Wallwork was born in Lancashire, Manchester district in 1872.
Possibly the same Moses married May Jane Batty in.Bolton, Lancashire in 1892.
