DescriptionOne of the most bizarre earthquake incidents occurred at Cronadun,on the Inangahua Junction road. 20 year old Pat smith backed his car out straight after the Inangahua Earthquake into a 6 foot hole. He was uninjured .An old gold prospecting tunnel under the road caved in front of the farm gate.

Vern Pattinson was a big family. Uncle Alf and Uncle Roy moved to New Plymouth after dad died. I was young so can't remember much.

Vern Pattinson dad and Uncle Alf worked at Dobson mine but I can remember biking to a building site in Cobden where Uncle Roy was building a house. He went to work at the New Plymouth power station but that was after Feb 1972 because he gave me away at my wedding.. Uncle Alf followed after Uncle Roy.
