"our Lady of the Way' Catholic Church was opened & blessed by Bishop Joyce, on Sunday 12 July, 1953. The decision to close the church was made on 10 March 1997. A FINAL MASS WAS HELD BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT THE DATE. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DATE & IF IT WAS WRITTEN UP IN THE GREYMOUTH STAR? This church was featured in the lovely series of "Faith of Our Fathers - Old West Coast Churches" on the 1st February 2014. in the Greymouth Star. On the front page of tthe Greymouth Star28th December 2016 , there was a story of a wedding held in the church.

Went to mass there when we were staying with my sister Anne van Beek and clan, it was a lovely wee church with a great family atmosphere.
I remember one time there was a huge noise outside some of the men folk went to investigate and slip had come down not far from the church.
