Oh so many stories to tell about this place and the memories are absolutely priceless, from a young follow drinking bottles of Coke & eating bags of chips in the car waiting for them to finish drinking to full grown man sinking a few beers on a Friday night with the legends of the mighty Greyhound! Nigel Tainui have you any of uncle Hupps clippings to share because those write ups he used to do were awesome and the only way to describe those boys who were all legends in their own right! Now I’ll share a story around the corner of the building you can see & if you look hard enough you can see a concrete slab & believe it or not that was the front entrance of the pub. That angle on the pub that hugs the road, that wasn’t always like that lol & was changed because a couple of trucks/cars or Gordon Thomson’s god rest he’s sole who kept taking the corner of the pub out on the way home. Prompting I think uncle Bill Henderson & if not him Boss Hog to change the entrance and redesign the corner of the pub. If Nigel does post some of Uncle Hupps paper clips up do ya self a favour and read them, You will not regret it!
Mike Wall

I worked there for a bit with Boss Hogg who was famous for taking off into Hoki on a busy night. We had a Durham Havill auction to raise funds for the senior women's softball team. Someone fashioned a tie to go on Boss, with a chain that was fix to a pole so he couldn't take off problem was he couldn't reach the bar to help out the staff. Many stories to tell here
