Locos Ja1252 and A472. I don't think Ja locos were used on the Coast. David Maciulaitis can you comment?

Brian Wheatley dad said ABs and Ws where on the coast. 428 was the last one to leave the coast and is now at Weka pass...from Doug

Elleyna Rennie Yes true enough, also J class out of Greymouth on the Otira line. My grandfather was an engine driver in Westport up to the 1940s but I don't know much about his career, although I have photos of him with Ww and Wb locos. There were A class locos running all over the Coast, but I don't know if A472 was one of them.

Brian Wheatley Dad just said he's not sure about that one. He worked in the railway workshop's but can't recall that one.

Kerry Lee - Picture of my father Bill Manera on left. Not sure were it was taken. Dad shared many a good story as a fireman, one in particular was coming through Jacksons and they would always roll a lump of coal of to a family who were doing it hard. Dad said this particular day the family had their door shut, the coal rolled down the hill smashed through the front door and went out the back.
