DescriptionWent to Braehead mine up on the hill behind the old Dunollie mine office yesterday with the son in law. Their 8 a time gig was 28 chain up the hill and they put a stone drive in 30 chain to reach the coal.

Starting in 1924 to 1956 they sent 230,331 ton down the hill.They opened another mine there from 1956 to 60 for 15,873 ton before shifting to 8 mile for a short time. Pic of town scoped up alo further away than this pic.Date of Photo1924 - 26Map^[1]Contributor Moe Bowes

Peter Armstrong Hi Peter, yes very close, I will look for it next time. I believe they actually ran into each other. Armstrongs Dunollie went from 1922 to 1929 when they transferred to 10 mile.

We got the gig wheel out by helecopter to use in the ski lift at Harringtons in the 10 mile

Les Neilson I wondered they would not of needed it at 8 mile. Did the brake handle fall off its on the track half way out.
