About this image
Description In the early 1970s a larger rectangular version, Venturo house was brought by truck from Christchurch to a section in Charleston. Coming down the gorge it apparently was briefly stuck under Hawks Crag. It would be really great if anyone knew of photos that might be around of its journey or of when it was first on site here.
*We have had the place, as our home, for nearly 6 years. *The oval-sided Venturo is from the same designer as the round spaceship-like, on legs, Futuro. * Only 10-12 type of each were made in NZ. We really look forward to seeing anything that might, by slight chance, be available!Date of Photo1970`sMap[1] ContributorSarah Stephen

Jock Allen I think they have curtains Jock. But there aren't many people in Charleston. I think you would have enough privacy. Personally, i'd love a wee place like that.
Heather Newby

Heather Newby - the one here is larger, a rectangle, of same style as above promo photo from 1970s. Has open plan front door, lounge, dining, kitchen down 1 side and bedroom, short hall & back door, bathroom/toilet & cylinder storage down other side. We love it.

Sarah Stephen looks great..do you know what happened to the one which was taken to Charleston? is it still there?
Sarah Stephen
Heather Newby - yes it is still in same place & we live in it. Just felt a more "historic" photo from 1970s may have twigged someone's memory of its journey & early days
Phillip Lee

Sarah Stephen
Phillip Lee - the one just South of Greymouth that we spotted perhaps?
Phillip Lee
