DescriptionModern equipment has made small scale alluvial gold mining possible. Here a digger excavates alluvial gravels, loading them into a hopper to concentrate the gold-bearing sand. Surplus gravels are dumped at the back of the dredge pond.Located in Arahura Valley, near Hokitika.
