CommentsRay Douglas - This is my family they are talking about here. Henry Douglas and Sid Kees Snr were coal miners in Runanga , and both came to Wangapeka about the same time. The school was on on Grandads farm and the big rhodo referred to here, is still there and was planted by Mary Mace Douglas, my grandmother.

Betty Mccormick - This marvellous. I thought history lessons finished when you left school but not in our case it would seem we are are still learning some wonderful facts. Thanks everyone.

Valerie Kenyon - Dad went to that school and taught by the Douglas girls 1919.
