Fascinated to see this posting. This beautiful vase was a wedding gift to my father Paddy when he and Maureen married in 1969 and it now lives with me in Central Australia. My memory was that it came from the Hokitika glass factory.

Were these Toska's son's? (pretty sure that was his name, a lovely man who was in I think William's Ward in 1978 and 79 when I worked up at the hospital, he didn't speak a word of English, but was a lovely person. The only thing I knew was he used to also be a glass blower, so I'm guessing they were his sons.)

I have a vase very similar to the one he’s making. It was a wedding gift to my father Paddy and Maureen in 1969. In magenta tones and has pride of place in my home, knowing it’s handmade in Hokitika and sentimental value.
