In the top photo is the Pusan. She was one of the STH Korean ships, chartered and crewed by Japs. Her and another STH Korean ship, I can't think of her name carted coal to Japan. One ship was coming to Greymouth while the oth… See more

Heather Newby my father helped organise that trade! He also got some sets of chopsticks from the captain of one of the ships. I remember standing on the breakwater with him watching the last ship leave when the trade stopped.
