Maye Dunn it was there when we first went to our Bach. Nobody lived in it then. That would be 40 yrs back.Never knew who owned it. It was in the middle of a fenced paddock, pine trees also on seaward side, and Fox River on south side. Along the other way was the old shearing shed.

One of the hippy guys a maori fella called bugs lived in it for quite a while. There were two well out in front the big Macrocarpas on the side of the road when I was a child. One owned by High school teacher Bill Wick and another owned By Mickey Shand who owned the Gilmer Hotel. They moved them to Crow bay when the sea went through them about 65 years ago roughly I was a kid. Bills evolved in to Reehaven but sadly Mickeys burnt down.

John Patrick Ward it's the dome, yes. But it was not made of aluminium, but ferro-cement over a wood and plywood base.

I remember about 50 mtrs past the ragwort on sea side to edge of paddock, then couple rows of young pine trees before you dropped down on to beach. 48 years ago . Would need a good snorkel to live in that spot now

I remember that bach!
My family lived at Katajuta many years ago . We lived in the old train carriage. That started my love affair with mobile homes.
It was an amazing place to spend part of my childhood. We spent hours in the cave at the river mouth, swimming in the river and trekking out to Seal Island at low tide.
