DescriptionIn 1959 the O'Brien mine which had started in closed after producing 213,801 Tonnes for 33 years. The party then tried prospecting several outcrops near the end of the Rewanui back shunt. This one in the photos ran from the 7 Mile Creek side and went under the back shunt down where O'Brien's bins were. I found two entrances for the one mine which was unsuccessful and closed in 1960 with some of the workers moving to Dunedin to work in a mine down there.Date of Photo1927 - 1959Map^[1]Contributor Moe Bowes
