DescriptionWhen I got a copy of this scanned postcard many years ago, it had 1909 in the filename. That's most likely when it was used, so the view wouldn't date from any later than that year. In September 1908, the Grey Star reporter wrote the following: "At Dunollie the first thing that takes the eye is the massive bins, and if it be a working day the buzz and rattle of the shaking screens tells the visitor that he has struck a busy centre. Climbing to the rope road you see the constant stream of tubs loaded with black diamonds to be tipped onto the screens, when the small coal is separated from the lumps. The stone is picked out, and it is generally classified and made a marketable commodity. ..."Date of Photo1909Map^[1]ContributorStephen Wright
