Yep my sister, Rhonda Turner, then I saw him years later at the Mapua Camping Ground. the old bugger was about 7 feet tall and had skin like leather, came walking out from the trees...OOHHH I was shocked at the time! We didn't know it was a nudy camp haha, ended up living there 5 months.

Was in background with Barney Lang when he was filmed visiting tea rooms after show in Queenstown. Had been drinking with film crew at Eichardts, and told to grab a cup of coffee and sit at back.

Selwyn chose my mother out of the audience at the end of the show and she asked for bag number 1 - didn’t have to answer the three questions. She won a Necchi electric sewing machine. Still works perfectly. I have it. Would have been in 1969, prior being on TV.

Selwyn always treated returned servicemen well. He asked my father, "What date did you leave NZ to go and join the war?" After Dad replied, Selwyn said that was his first question.
Dad went on to win his bag, which turned out to be enough $ to build a new fence.
I followed, and when I won 6 white men's shirts in my bag, Selwyn said, realizing we were father and daughter, that that wasn't fair, so added in 6 pairs of stockings in my bag for me. (This was in '63 or '64.)
