Rodger Fredericks I didn’t know you did that! I was on the Marion when Old Maurice would drop me some crayfish to eat while on the pick at Jackson Bay. Barry Gardiner being an absolute asshole but then on with Ian Boote on the Galaxy.

For a time the Silver Fern was operated by Dick Gifkins and Jack Gillies with Johnny Impey as crew.
Was often berthed opposite the Brian Boru.
My Dad, while at the Dominion (pre 1954) had a stand under the wharf opposite the "Boru"
and sometimes when the Silver Fern was berthed we fished of the boat.
Jack Gillies' son John was a bit of a rascal and got convicted as part of the famous (infamous) Bassett Street (Auckland) murders.

I have took quite a few photos that day of boats crossing the bar, were 4 boats sitting off Greymouth and one in the river keeping an eye on proceedings as bar was rough , would have been early 80s.have about 4 of this boat.
