Interesting think I got my maths right, in todays money the Pink Salmon $6.60 Baked Beans $4.20 Spaghetti$3.30 and a Doz large eggs $12.00c !!!. Thats based on 1 Pound in 1961 being worth $50.11c in 2022. If someone wants to check me it's 240 pence to the pound

Caroline Dunlop I've used the banks inflation adjuster so those prices are what those products would cost you today if you were to buy them at the prices advertised in that flyer, hope that makes sense

Those tongues in the tin were quite nice nothing like you would imagine was a great staple reasonable food for many older folk way back when. Although personally I would have preferred the corn beef but many people would not have been able to afford them even at those prices

Really hard to tell whether this is 1950s or 1960s, I'm going more with early 1960s, surprised Celopak was still around, I believe that was a Self Help sub brand.

OMG we used to have canned lamb's tongues in the 60s and my dad loved canned herrings in tomato sauce. Thanks for the memories.
