Yep only a category 3 grade flood so sayeth the then Mayor Barry Dallas. No need to panic...Then stood back and watched whilst the town filled up! The Ahaura River was at its highest peak ever and that ladies and gentlemen was the warning bell sounding. Arrogance personified They walked amongst us back then.
