Captain Christian, in going full speed down the river, did not act with prudence, and was guilty of improper navigation. After the vessel struck, the captain collapsed and the mate, Mr Carrick, then took charge and the subsequent striking of the vessel on the south wall, resulting in the stripping of the propeller, and becoming a total wreck, was due to his want of coolness and judgement.Date of Photo1912Map^[1]ContributorTony Kokshoorn
