Anthea Keenan from the Capt Max Dowel BCS OBE QSM collection. No one would know more about the West Coast History south of the Teremakau than Max and the pictures and historical information would put the museum to shame.

This photo comes from the Capt Max Dowell BCS OBE QSM collections of West Coast History Photos. Max would probably have a better collection of photos and information than anyone on the Coast including the museum. The shield has been loaned to the Hokitika Museum by Max. Credit where credit is due please:

Yes will try get sm more of Max's pics and stories Geoffrey. I think he said Ken Reece's father in pic. or McIntoshes held shield, will ask him more. Maybe others know who is in photo.

Ken Reece Snr and Dick Thomas in pic. McIntoshes owned the Red Lion Hotel, who sponsored the shield loaned to the Museum by Max due to it being a Surf Rescue shield.
