It used to be 12 Mile Landing in the goldrush days. But the river took the site and the town was pulled inland, and renamed.

I remember calling in there with Slim Gillman on our way back from Moonlight with a load of mining timber for Wallsend mine in the early 1950s. old Paddy Mullins was behind the bar. great memories.
