B4 I left the Coast they were getting Rimu out of the forest by helicopter. My boys were lucky enough to have a look inside the helicopter when it was parked up Blue Spur. The guy was telling the boys how it operated and how they got the logs out. This would be about 25+ years ago.

yes great trucks n drivers I worked at a lot of the local mills at that time would cart logs to kopora mill and the aart the timber back to nowhere railway

Looks a bit like the old bridge up the top crooked river,there is a good video of a Croft truck going over the bridge back in the day carting logs back to the Ruru mill
