The new brewing system was a Steinager Plant organised by the head brewer at the time Neville Musto. The old wooden vats ruined many a brew.

I worked over the Xmas hol's with Johnson & Coll finishing the electrical for the new plant, that was 1964/5

My dad worked for Westland breweries from about 1930 until he passed away on the job in 1968. He was always so proud of the place. He worked in the office doing the accounts. He often worked on the factory floor as well and came a weekend he would get a phone call, because some hotel had ran out beer on a Sunday. He would go over to the brewery, load up the little grey van and go up country and deliver it. I sometimes went with him.
