Carolyn Luck I remember that flood, maybe January '79. 3YZ opened local for us to listen for messages. Mr Jackson appealed for sandbaggers in town. We moved produce in the shop. The river water arrived like an insidious beast in the early morn: fast flowing in shallow rivulets, mostly from the Back Lane, Intemanns along to Albert Street.
